Energy in motion
For Sanyako’s Summer ’24 season, I worked as Art Director and Photo Assistant on a fast-paced photoshoot driven by movement, instinct and energy. Collaborating closely with a photographer I deeply connect with, I worked hands-on with the models — finding the extra pose, the in-between moment, the frame that happens just before or after the obvious one. Alongside this, I actively shaped light, composition and framing to keep the imagery raw, charged and in motion.
My role
Art Director / Photo Assistant. On-set creative partner to the photographer, working closely with models, stylist, hairdresser and make-up artist to align movement, styling and atmosphere. Contributed to decisions around light, composition and framing while protecting the brand’s visual language throughout the shoot.
Problem / opportunity
How to translate Sanyako’s spirit into still imagery without freezing it — capturing energy, instinct and momentum within a single frame.
Creative thinking
Prioritize flow over control. Build images through movement rather than poses, using light, framing and composition as active tools. Stay close to the subjects and the crew to catch transitional moments — where tension, authenticity and energy naturally surface.
Outcome / impact
A series of images (mainly for Social) that feel charged rather than staged. Visuals that embody motion and attitude, reinforcing Sanyako’s identity through rhythm, trust and shared creative intuition.
